How was SpringPad conceived?
Back in college, our veteran and rather irate economics professor made quite a striking comment while teaching finance: “Look at the irony, students studying finance in the name of education, then graduating as financial illiterates, and never really knowing what to do with their finances when they start making money”.
Yes, “financial Illiterates”. Though his truthbomb was dark, his wisdom was true. Our education system is broken. We read, and read, and read, but we never learn to apply practical finance in our lives. Never learn what skills, tools, and knowledge we will be needing to manage our finances when we start earning. Most people end up living pay check to pay check, irrespective of how much they make. Most are in an eternal debt trap: student loan, car loan, home loan. Never really knowing how to lead a financially comfortable life.
